A Message from MSNJ President, Marc J. Levine, MD 4.3.20
Friday, April 3, 2020
Physicians and healthcare providers from all disciplines continue to work in concert to defeat the COVID 19 challenge. Larry Downs, CEO, and I represent MSNJ as members of the NJ Department of Health COVID 19 Professional Advisory Committee. This committee has brought together leaders from all aspects of healthcare delivery. Please be confident that all resources are being deployed and researched to provide care to our patients and provide protection and support to our physicians and care givers. This coordination of efforts and resources is nothing short of a war time effort.
We are actively supporting our colleagues in northern NJ who have experienced the first spike in NJ COVID hospital cases. ICU specialists and pulmonologists from across the state share their experiences to enhance patient care. Hospital systems are helping each other out to make sure PPEs and ventilators are available. Retired physicians have answered the call to assist by volunteering at www.msnj.org. Governor Murphy has signed Executive Order-112 which includes language that among other things allows physicians to provide care during the COVID crisis with decreased liability risks.
While these are clearly challenging times, we are meeting the challenge together.
Be Safe, Be Well and Be Proud
-Marc J. Levine, MD
