On October 28th, RWJBH will be “going-live” with the Epic electronic health records system at the following hospitals:

  • Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center

Epic training OR test out ALONG WITH mandatory in-person training is required by the Go-live date. If this is not completed, physicians WILL have their privileges suspended until training is completed.

To complete Epic training at RWJBH

  1. An online component – Web Based Training (WBT) is done through online training through Symplr (from your office or home, link below). IF you have never used the Epic EHR system - this is important to learn how to use the system.
  2. An in-person component- you should sign up for 1 of the training sites closest to you. This will allow you to learn how to personalize. Epic to your particular needs and workflows.

IF you have used Epic before - you may test out of the Web based (Symplr) component but MUST do in-person personalization.

IF you fail to do complete Epic training, your facility privileges will be suspended until training is completed.
